Get Involved!.

ATTENTION NEW STUDENTS

The ESS can always use a little extra help, and it's easy! There are many things you can do. Here are some ideas:

  • Attend our Student Council meetings and join in the conversations. This is a very good way to network.  The best engineers are the ones who can communicate ideas.

  • Join the Student Council and spread the joy. No one is here for too long so we're always looking for replacements.

  • Participate in our activities and get others to join in.  The ESS can get you involved.  If you're interested in specific clubs we can point you in the right direction.

  • Come talk with us! We love company. Show us your face and make yourself known. We often look for upcoming students to recruit for special events with lots of perks.

Also, here are a few links that you might want to take a look at

  • Students' Council -Take a look at the positions still availble for you!

  • Meetings -Take a look at our minutes to see what's being discussed at our meetings. Our monthly council meetings are open so you're more than welcome to sit-in! Check our Events Calender to find out the time and location of our next meeting!

  • Oral Otis -the uOttawa Engineering Newspaper is always looking for creative writers or help in the office! Please contact Lillian Poon if you have something to submit (article, opinion, suggestions, cartoons, etc..) or if you're interested in helping out in another area.

  • I hope this has sparked some interest. A lot of these activities have specific people to talk to, but we all have contacts in the ESS Office. Come find us.
  • Our office is located in the basement of Colonel By, room C02.   Our extension is 6188.  Whoever picks up will be happy to hear from you, say "Hi, I'm looking to get involved".
